Naru Kwina: Writer, Musician, Teacher Interview 2011 (shown here w/his family)
Q#1: Are you a Bay Area Native? and if not, how long have you lived in the Bay? Naru: I was born and raised in Oakland California.
Q#2: When did you start on the creative path you are currently on? Naru: I’ve always been creative, singing and playing instruments since I was 3 years old.
Q#3: Where do you find your inspiration? Naru: My inspiration comes from many sources, both positive, and negative. I write when I’m happy, sad, angry, horny, tired, fed up,or just full of myself that day.
My daughter continues to inspire me, as does my wife, my family, and my circle of friends. Events going on in the world, or just in my city or hood are also fodder for my writing and music.
Q#4: What was the first piece of vinyl you ever purchased? Naru: Rappers Delight.
Q#5: Anything else you’d like to share? a joke/quote? Naru: Ever so often it should be mandatory to not only question what you believe, but why you believe it.
Why not try it today.
